Important notes

- In order for your Nest Thermostat to work it can be powered up using a 5V 2A charger with an microUSB cable or directly using the T1 T2 ports available on the HeatLink that provide 12 VDC and the HeatLink needs be connected to a 230 VAC power source.

- This product CAN be used in EU countries.

- Compatible with the majority of heating systems.

- Thermostat wires MUST be available to start the installation!

- Nest Thermostat can also be used as a basic thermostat if there is no WiFi connection available. (after it has been set up)

Way it works

Setup is fairly straightforward, using the thermostat’s controls to hook it up to 2.4 or 5 GHZ Wi-Fi, so that it can be remote-controlled. Once online, you can control everything from the Nest app, which is the same app that also controls the cameras and Nest Protect. If you already have other Nest devices, then, it’s great to be able to control everything from one place.

Where it works

It is compatible with the majority of heating systems.

Good for HVAC systems because it can measure both temperature and humidity.

For Combi/System boilers: The white product available in the box, which is called HeatLink must be wired to your heating system thermostat wires. To power it up a 230 VAC power source is needed. Two of your HeatLink outputs provide 12 - 24 VDC to power up the Nest Thermostat.

For In floor heating systems: Additional electrically operated valves might be needed (if there are none available). The electrically operated valve must be installed to the specific zone that it's temperature will be smartphone controlled. The control wires of the electrically operated valve will be then connected to the HeatLink (the white product that can be found in the box). Read carefully about your electrically operated valve's power source requirements. To power up the HeatLink a 230 VAC power source is needed. Two of your HeatLink outputs provide 12 - 24 VDC to power up the Nest Thermostat.

For OpenTherm compatible systems: There are 2 specific inputs on your HeatLink in order for your OpenTherm protocol to be used. To power up the Heatlink a 230 VAC power source is needed.

OpenTherm is a language that compatible thermostats and heating systems can use to talk to each other, enabling thermostats to control heating and domestic hot water systems. Since your Nest will control your OpenTherm compatible boiler using the most efficient way, your heat may run for long periods of time but heating will be done at a lower temperature to save energy.

Advantages of using OpenTherm:

- Water temperature control

- Using the most efficient water temperature to heat

- Energy bills cost savings
